About Us / Join Us Learn about SPSMSAR and how to join.

South Puget Sound Mobile Search and Rescue is an all volunteer non-profit organization that provides assistance to people who are lost or injured outdoors. Our organization provides Mobile Support Teams to the official agencies responsible for search and rescue operations in Western Washington. Our organization specializes in mobile forms of search and rescue. Including Mobile 4x4, ATV, Mountain Bike, K-9, and base support. Each of our members is trained with the skill and mindset to be a valuable asset to the community when called into action. Many members are cross trained in multiple disciplines to improve the support we can provide. Each SPSMSAR member meets Washington States emergency worker laws, and maintain their certification through ongoing training. We work closely with search and rescue agencies across the state, and the other teams of the Thurston County Search and Rescue Council. This includes Thurston County Jeep Patrol and WESAR. We participate in joint training with these and other agencies to expand our operational knowledge in the field.

SPSMSAR also provides local organizations event support in the form of Radio Communications, Medical Support, and other on scene assistance.  In the past we have participated in events like; FOCF Bike Races, Capitol Peak Ultras, Mixx 96.1 Wrapping up the Holidays, and others.
