10 year old Lindsey Baum disappeared from her hometown of McCleary, WA on June 26th, 2009 as she was walking home from a friends house a few blocks away.  The FBI and Grays Harbor County Sheriff are still working on this search.

Mother and son missing in Olympia. On the way from Silverdale to Castle Rock they became lost in Olympia. There abandoned van was found partially submerged in the Puget Sound.  Boy has been recovered, mother is still missing.

Missing Alzheimer's man in Olympia; The  Search went for two days and thanks to our wonderful mobile team leader the man was found and alive.  He is now home safe with his family.

South Puget Sound Mobile Search And Rescue(SPSMSAR) is an all volunteer non-profit corporation that provides assistance to people who are lost or injured outdoors. Our organization provides Mobile Support Teams to the official agencies responsible for search and rescue operations in Western Washington County Sheriff’s Office).

Our organization specializes in mobile forms of Placeholder  Imagesearch and rescue.  
Our teams include Mobile 4x4, ATV, Mountain Bike, EMT, and Mobile/Base Support.  Each member of the respected team's are trained with the skills and mind-set to be a valuable asset to the community when called into action.  Many members are cross trained in multiple teams to improve the support we can provide.  All members of
SPSMSAR meet Washington State law for search and rescue workers and maintain their certification through ongoing training.  Our teams are committed to monthly training within their respected teams and quarterly organization training to build skills such as Wildlife Survival, Navigation, and Rescue Techniques.

We work closely with other regional search and rescue organizations and belong to the Thurston County SAR Council which includes TCSO Jeep Patrol, TCSO Mounted Patrol, TCSO Dive Team, ARES/RACES, Bloodhound Search Dogs, Olympia SAR, and WESAR.  We also participate in joint training operations with other search and rescue groups in the area to expand our operational knowledge in the field.

SPSMSAR also provides local organizations event support in the form of Radio Communications, Medical Support, and other on scene assistance.  In the past we have participated in events like; FOCF Bike Races, Capital Peak Ultras, Ghostmuster Fun Run, Mixx 96 Wrapping up the Holidays, and others.

SPSMSAR is always looking for dedicated people who are interested in making a difference in their community by volunteering for Search and Rescue.
