South Puget Sound Mobile Search And Rescue ATV / Dirt Bike team was formed to fill the void of a much needed resource in Thurston County Search and Rescue. There are many miles of trails systems and inaccessible roads that a search subject could be. This team allows for a reconnaissance search of a large area that would take ground unit's a considerable longer time to cover. It also allows mobile searching of areas that cannot be reached by street vehicles. Along with typical search activities the team can be utilized in a variety of other helpful ways such as, supply transportation, personnel evacuation, equipment recovery, scene security, radio relays, information gathering, site surveys, night area illumination, landing zone locating, etc. The addition of this unity greatly improves the chances of a successful search operation.
